AT Model Engineering Limited is pleased to announce the acquisition of the business and assets of Polly Model Engineering Limited on the retirement of Directors Andy and Jayne Clarke. The new business will continue to trade as Polly Model Engineering, from new premises in Cromford Derbyshire.
The company will provide a comprehensive range of model engineering supplies and supply drawings castings and parts (including our renowned CNC machined brass platework) for a wide range of fine scale models. Whilst not exclusive, the emphasis will remain with GWR prototype locomotive models. The range of stationary engine kits designed by Anthony Mount will continue to be supplied. Whilst production of the Polly locomotive kits is currently suspended, spares and support will be provided.
Working in collaboration with our manufacturing partner company 17D, we will continue to produce and develop the range of specialised fittings formerly produced by Andy Clarke in the Polly workshop, whilst the CNC cut platework and a number of other products will be produced in our own well equipped workshop.
The directors of AT Model Engineering Limited have a combined experience of the model engineering business of over thirty years, so customers should be reassured of the support available. The team is led by Matthew Thomas, long seen as the public face of the Practical Scale side of Polly business, ably assisted by his wife Julia with wide experience of the Polly business over the recent years and Tristan Dengate, managing director of 17D who brings particular expertise in the manufacturing area and general management. Meet the team at the forthcoming Harrogate Exhibition March 11th/12th 2023 at the Harrogate Showground.
The workshop has moved to new more appropriate premises in close proximity to 17D at Cromford in Derbyshire where visitors will be welcome by appointment. Whilst the address has changed, other contact details remain the same and we look forward to hearing from customers old and new, with all your model engineering requirements. A new website is under development and will be live in the very near future.
