Good practice and compliance information
The FMES produces a range of good practice and compliance information to enable clubs and model engineers to enjoy their hobby and take appropriate actions to maintain and improve important safety related aspects. These include steam boiler testing and health and safety of those engaged in the hobby, clubs or their activities.
FMES seeks to be aware of new and existing legislation affecting the hobby. Working with other appropriate representatives in the hobby, FMES aims to develop or catalyse suitable responses to these issues, some of which might have an unintended impact on the hobby: if you become aware of such legislation, either newly interpreted, or being developed, please [contact us] to support our work.
Our principle is firstly to educate and raise awareness of obligations to assist clubs in their risk assessments and other procedural necessities and, secondly and where practicable, provide procedural methods for clubs to demonstrate compliance.’
